gcj-4.6-base software package provides GCC, the GNU Compiler Collection (gcj base package), you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gcj-4.6-base
gcj-4.6-base is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gcj-4.6-base package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gcj-4.6-base *
You will get with gcj-4.6-base package name, version, architecture and description in a table
